Emsella in Koreatown

What is Emsella?

Emsella is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatment for urinary incontinence. It uses HIFEM® electromagnetic energy to stimulate thousands of pelvic floor muscle contractions in each session while you sit fully clothed on the Emsella chair for about 30 minutes, and most people return to their day right after. At Jubilee Aesthetics in Koreatown, Los Angeles, Emsella is provided under licensed medical supervision for women experiencing bladder leaks after childbirth or around menopause, and for men with urinary leakage after prostate surgery.

The Treatment

How Emsella works

Emsella uses HIFEM® (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) technology. A focused electromagnetic field passes through the seat of the chair to the pelvic floor, producing thousands of muscle contractions in a single session. These contractions are designed to help re-engage and strengthen the muscles that support bladder control. During treatment, you'll feel tingling and rhythmic contractions, and your provider adjusts the intensity to your comfort.

FAQ

Frequently asked Emsella questions

Bladder leaks are often linked to weakened pelvic floor muscles, the group of muscles that supports the bladder. Emsella is designed to work those muscles through thousands of electromagnetic-induced contractions per session, which may help improve strength and bladder control over the course of a treatment plan. It is FDA-cleared for the treatment of urinary incontinence in women and men.

Emsella is non-invasive, with no needles, anesthesia, or incisions. Each session takes about 30 minutes while you sit fully clothed, and there is typically little to no downtime, so most people return to their day right after. It is FDA-cleared for the treatment of urinary incontinence in both women and men, and your provider will confirm whether it's a good fit for your goals.

The two can work together, and your provider can advise whether to continue pelvic floor exercises alongside your treatment plan.

A typical plan is six sessions, scheduled twice a week over about three weeks. Your provider may adjust the number of sessions based on your symptoms and goals, and some patients add periodic maintenance sessions afterward.

Most patients describe the sensation as tingling and strong, rhythmic muscle contractions rather than pain. Your provider starts at a comfortable level and can adjust the intensity at any point during the session.

Downtime is typically minimal. Most people drive themselves home or head back to work right after their session. Some feel mild pelvic muscle fatigue, similar to the day after a workout.

Results build gradually as your pelvic floor muscles strengthen over the treatment plan, and may continue to develop in the weeks after your final session. How long results last varies from person to person, and your provider can recommend maintenance sessions if needed.
